Basic Instructor training (Train the trainer)

What is this training?

This is classroom based vocational training, specially designed for anyone whose responsibilities include training others

Who is it for?

The training is designed for those whose job role includes delivering training of any kind

What does it consist of?

The training is delivered in one 2 day session, in order to provide new knowledge and skills. There is a small amount of pre-course work to complete, and an action plan to consolidate the learning

Who delivers this training?

Your training will be delivered by a qualified and occupationally competent trainer, who has knowledge and experience of basic training requirements

What are the results you can expect after this training?

Candidates will have the knowledge and skills required to deliver effective training sessions in their area of responsibility

Can this training be accredited?

This programme can be accredited, and the candidates will achieve the City & Guilds Introduction to Trainer Skills Award (7300)

How is this qualification assessed?

This qualification is assessed by Trainer observation during the course, and a multiple choice questionnaire at the end of the programme

Trainer/Instructor development training

(Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Award in Education & Training)

What is this training?

This is classroom based vocational training, specially designed for anyone whose responsibilities include training others

Who is it for?

The training is designed for those whose job role includes delivering training, and need to advance their skills from basic Instructional techniques to effective training and facilitation.  It is particularly relevant for those teaching new staff

What does it consist of?

The training is delivered in one 3 day session, and one 2 day session. The first session includes the theoretical input and exercises to consolidate the learning. The second session is to practice training delivery and get constructive feedback to improve performance

Who delivers this training?

Your training will be delivered by a qualified and occupationally competent trainer, who has knowledge and experience of effective training and facilitation

What are the results you can expect after this training?

Candidates will have the knowledge and skills required to deliver high quality training and facilitation which has maximum impact on learners

How is this qualification assessed?

This qualification may be assessed by the candidate producing a portfolio of evidence, and 1 x one hour observed teaching session in the workplace. Candidates may complete and submit assignments as an alternative to the portfolio of evidence

Professional Trainer/Instructor development training

(Edexcel BTEC Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training)

What is this training?

This is classroom based vocational training, specially designed for anyone whose full time responsibilities include training others

Who is it for?

The training is designed for those whose job role is as a full time instructor or trainer, and requires professional teaching skills

What does it consist of?

The training is delivered in 2 and 3 day modules, a total of 14 days of learning and practice

Who delivers this training?

Your training will be delivered by a qualified and occupationally competent trainer, who is also a qualified teacher, and has knowledge and experience of professional training

What are the results you can expect after this training?

Candidates will learn the knowledge and skills to plan, deliver and assess high quality training. They will understand the roles and responsibilities of a trainer, and know how to use resources to provide effective learning interventions

How is this qualification assessed?

This qualification is assessed by the candidate completing and submitting assignments for each of the six units. Each candidate must complete 3 x 1 hour observed teaching sessions, and produce evidence of 30 hours of teaching
