The Apprenticeship Levy
The Government have announced that the Apprenticeship Levy will fund three million apprenticeships in the UK by 2020.
Employers above a certain size will be committed to paying towards apprenticeships monthly through their PAYE wage bill and the money can be accessed to pay for Apprenticeships in the organisation.

- The Apprentice can be any member of staff or manager, new or existing (certain exceptions apply)
- The Apprentice must develop new skills for their roles
- The Apprenticeship needs to be accredited
- The Apprenticeship provider needs to be approved
What does it cost?
Employers are charged 0.5% of their PAYE wage bill
Where does the money go?
The Apprenticeship Levy is paid into the Digital Apprenticeship Fund, from which payments can be made to Providers of the apprenticeship. The money is topped up by 10% by the Government
